Actually - at this point…
I’m reminded why I tend not to interact with people through this account at all.
I really should just put this account behind a password protect screen.
For the record:
- I run this for my own gratification. That 300 [rapidly declining] plus people “follow” my content baffles me, but fair enough.
- The actual reason for starting this particular stream? The Kindle comments / re-blogs etc, etc, were threatening to take over my personal account. And I thought it more appropriate to move them to a separate one, as that way people who were nice enough to follow me, could chose if they wanted to read my eBook / eReader related content.
- I tend not to reply to messages - there are, 94 currently in the Inbox for The Kindle Monologues alone.
- I don’t pay that much attention to my “follower” numbers for two reasons - one, I’m not all that interested, two: They don’t affect me. I know 300+ people don’t actually follow this blog, based on the number of notes that my posts tend to get.
There is one exception to that final point - “follower” numbers with regards to librarians. I’ve noticed, that if I post anything that could even remotely be construed as being even a teensy-tiny bit way criticising of libraries, or the people who run them, my “numbers” drop.
That’s why, everytime I post up something, I tend to make a note of my follower numbers before, and after.
Seven “accounts” have “unfollowed me” since last night. I know two of ‘em, for the simple fact they’re accounts whose content I read. The other five - I don’t know, and have no real interest in knowing, truth be told.
I just find the “criticise - even to the tiniest degree” = Unfollowing, response, fascinating.

Anyways - from now I’m not looking at the notes / re-blog history of any posts prior to now except this one, as I’m fascinated to see how “surroundedbybooks” feels that a comment about eBook resources, is any shape or form an “apt response” to my initial post.
Library Journal originally posted the exact same thing, but they at least ,have gone back and edited their original post, to remove the comment that somehow the original post, applies to my complaint. I wonder if surroundedbybooks will do the same?
I doubt I’ll get one, but whatever.
