d1000words asked: Did your local library even have anything "in-store" saying it was National Library Day? The wife and I went to ours, thinking it'd be all bells and ribbons -- but nothing. Seemed a wasted opportunity.
They did an alright job - there were a number of different events, mostly at the “main libraries” which were targeted at kids makes sense, I guess, as it’ll help get them familiar with the library system, and how it works.
For adults, there were a sessions on how to use the internet facilities, and an introductory sessions on the different types of materials you can borrow [providing you can get past their sodding useless catalogue system] other than paperbooks - such as DVDs, CDs, Playaways etc, etc.
What’s more annoying, is the event wasn’t promoted by that much by the council - there was no mention either on the Facebook page, or the Twitter stream.
