thelifeguardlibrarian: This is great for the UK, but why is it being held on a Saturday? Obviously, I can’t speak for all libraries over here in the land of Timey-Wimey, but at least in my neck of the woods, most branch libraries aren’t open past six - if memory serves, there’s one that opens until seven pm. So families who work ~40hrs a week, likely might not get home until 5 - 6PM. That doesn’t leave a lot of time, after a long day working, to nip down the local library. By running it on a Saturday, smaller local libraries that are close at 6PM can take part, and there’s a better chance people with families / who work hours that mean they can’t go to their library, can take part.
